Last Dance tells the story of a woman sentenced to death. She killed and there is no miscarriage of justice. Where this movie could have a great opportunity to advocate for human rights and the occasion to highlight the horror and hypocrisy of the death penalty, the film deals with the notion of forgiveness in a despicable crime. Death penalty becomes secondary. The victims' families are portrayed as the bad guys. I found the message of this film very disturbing, even outrageous towards the victims and moreover the victims of repeat offenders, because that's the risk (sadely uncovered by the director) it brings when rises the notion of forgiveness.
